The Paleolithic diet (also known as the Stone Age diet or hunter-gatherer diet) is characterized by its reliance on whole unprocessed foods. The foundation of the Paleo diet is plenty of meat, seafood, vegetables, and some fruit, nuts, seeds, and starches. In her book of Paleo desserts, author Louise Hendon emphasizes three points for those who think that all desserts are bad for you: 1. These desserts will make you feel better, not worse. 2. These desserts can be prepared in thirty minutes or less. 3. Every recipe has been thoroughly tested. She states that all the ingredients in the recipes are natural, nontoxic, and nutritious. After describing some of the Paleo ingredients used in the recipes, and the necessary cooking equipment, the dessert recipes are presented. I have to say that they do look and sound tasty. The color photography of the desserts is gorgeous. My only issue with the book is the lack of nutritional information. I would like to have seen at a minimum the number of calories, including protein, carbohydrates, and fat; and dietary fiber per serving.
