This book has been created to provide business leaders with an overview of DevOps and how it might be applied within their own business context. You do not need to be 'techie' to benefit from this book.
DevOps, as with 'Agile' and 'Cloud', is a relatively new term in the delivery of modern IT systems and infrastructure. As we will cover later, the successful implementation of DevOps should improve the quality and timely delivery of IT solutions.
It should be noted that DevOps isn't something you just buy and do; instead it is more about the shared mindset and practical application across the broader IT teams.
The adoption of DevOps is on the rise, however there are still relatively few companies that have successfully implemented it at the time of writing this book. This means that there is a very real possibility that correct adoption of DevOps can give you and your business a competitive advantage - allowing you to deliver technology changes quicker and more flexibly, with improved security and quality built in.
