In this short tome, the authors will give a brief synoptic of several approaches to profiling the hacker. The goal of this review is to offer individuals in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and Cyber Counter Intelligence different research ideas for studying and applying hacker profiling toward the identification of persons or groups involved in cyber attacks and/or cyber warfare. By profiling the characteristics of both groups and individual attackers, the defenders of computer networks could be able to prepare, to identify, and to take corrected action when attacked. Law enforcement will be better prepared to track hackers, coordinate with other agencies, and arrest these cyber criminals.
