The following are comments made to me over the years that pertain to the problems and fears that many folks have about cooking:

“My mother was a terrible cook, so I certainly don’t want to duplicate her choice of recipes.”

“I’m a newlywed and have no clue how to cook. To make matters worse, my husband grew up in a home with two domestic chefs, his mother and his father. I’m afraid to go near the oven or the range top.”

“If I can prepare meals that will end the disdainful looks of my mother-in-law at the dinner table, I will live a happy life. Then she could just be annoyed by my culinary accomplishments.”

“I have tried to prepare meals for my family, but apparently my cuisine is lacking. Why else would they always light up when my husband offers to go out for pizza or Chinese?”

“I can prepare old standards like hamburgers and macaroni and cheese, but after a while my limited menu gets boring. I need to know how to cook great new meals, but I’ll never be Julia Child or Emeril Legasse.”

“Aren’t there some easy recipes out there to keep my kids from living at McDonald’s?”

“When my critical mother-in-law is over for dinner, I pray that Bobby Flay will materialize in my kitchen.”

Trust me, these are but a few of the distressing comments I hear.

I have been a homemaker and culinary student of what the majority of people like to eat. I have tried hundreds of recipes, many of which, upon testing, didn’t make the grade. However, I have trimmed my recipe books down to those proven winners that make eyes go wide and the taking of seconds by my diners almost universally assured. The very best of those recipes are here in this book for you to easily duplicate and reap the kudos and compliments from your happy family and guests.

You know they say a great novel is often described as “unputdownable,” well, these recipes found herein have become extremely “putdownable,” forkful after spoonful.

Bear in mind that the recipes in this book are not complicated concoctions requiring advance knowledge of fancy French sauces or the need for outlandish ingredients. The whole idea behind this book is to make anybody a preparer of easy-to-make dishes that have proven to be taste-pleasers you can proudly and confidently serve.

Fear the kitchen no more. Try my recipes and let me hear your results. I’m betting they’ll be absolutely delicious experiences.
