The chapter length is convenient to a 20-30 minute session making this rather slender volume very enjoyable to read as pleasure. Its well documented material makes it wonderfully informative. Many excellent reports of heroic and sometimes tragic outcomes of man's intrepid adventures. The topics cover everything from the ocean depths (pressure and cold) to deserts to outer space. A great read.
