By presenting archival material from the political police the Italian military the Prime Minister's press office, and its subsequent incarnation, the Ministry for Popular Culture, it shows how practices of censorship were used to effect regime change, to measure and to shape public opinion, behavior and attitudes in the twenty years of Mussolini's dictatorship.
