This is the unvarnished mission diary of a World War II B-26 Martin Marauder pilot, Dick, as transcribed and elaborated by a Vietnam veteran pilot, Dick's son. Unique features of this diary are attributed to the special elements of service rendered by Dick. Among these are very many missions over France and Germany. Especially different is Dick's becoming an on the ground element of Patton's Army. The war time directness of Dick's mission entries in his diary hits home in a way that may make pilot veterans uneasy.
